Wii comes with female?The way Wiis continue to sell you would think they came withthe girl. The truth may not be so far from that statement. Being a GameStop slave…errrremployee I have noticed an increasing number of 20-35 yr old couples coming in to pick out games TOGETHER. Mind you the woman generally has the final say in what they choose to buy. :-p With Wii Fit, Nintendo has spread their appeal even more to the female demographic. We are having to turn away about 20 people a day that are looking for Wii Fit because everyone is sold out and they didn’t reserve one in advance. 75% of those 20 people are women.

 

Female FinesseI believe one reason women and casual gamers like the Wii is because every game levels the playing field because of the Wiimote. Every game is different and the controls are different which levels the learning curve even when you’re challenging a HARDenedpro like me. Us hardcore gamers have been using basically the same kind of controller and controls for about 15-20 years now. With the advent of the Wiimote everyone has to learn the controls all over again and most of them are simplified such as golfing stance, tennis swings, bowling underhand motions etc. It is now less about lightening quick reflexes and more about fluid finesse control of the sexy Wiimote.

This is Nintendo’s niche, females, casual gamer, children under the age of 14, and young families. Articles have stated the ONE flaw of the Wii is… the GAMES themselves. There just aren’t a lot of big seller (or in my opinion FUN QUALITY) titles outside of the Nintendo titles like Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart, and Zelda. If you’re looking for blood and guts, fast intense action, and HD graphics that make you go AHHHH, you need look elsewhere. If you’re wanting simple pick up and play, physical and most importantly SOCIAL fun the Wii is the console for you. You are also seeing multiple console households these days as well, so everyone can have their own special game “lust” fulfilled. If you want to play games with your girl, the Wii is for you. Another day, another statistic to prove that the Wii is a hit among the fairer sex. According to a national survey completed by Solutions Research Group (link to PDF), the Wii ranks 8th as most wanted “digital lifestyle product” amongst Women. Men, by contrast, have a stronger hankering for the PS3 (8th) and 360 (9th) over the Wii (10th).

If that wasn’t enough statistical mumbo-jumbo for one evening, you might also like to know that the Wii ranked 8th on the 18-34 demographic, beating both the PS3 and 360. If we can make some hasty deductions, it appears that the typical Wii owner is a girl aged between 18 and 34. Which is kinda funny, because all the Wii owners we know are blokes who don’t know how to wash properly. Where are we going wrong?”

If you’re looking for REAL sexiness from a console, Samus there on the left is as close as you’re gonna get right now for the Wii. HOWEVER if you own a Wii it just MIGHT get you laid! :-p
